At the moment I'm finding it very hard to "juggle" between the games I have right now.

Originally I was playing through the Orange Box, but I've done all the HL2's and play them VERY occasionally, I've completed Portal and play that VERY occasionally as well,(GMod comes in there somewhere as well but I only play that when I can think of something to do).

Of course I'm talking about the 'Big 3'

Counter-Strike: Source
Team Fortress 2
Left 4 Dead

TF2 is what started it all off, all this, my online community joining and such, so it has a special place on my Desktop and in the My Games list as my personal little favourite, it's like a favourite uncle or brother, you really like the other ones and they have their own specific highs and lows but there is obviously a clear winner.

CSS...now, this has caused...problems. It makes me rage for a start, I don't like raging at games really but seeing as CSS has been out for years there is clearly quite a steep and unforgiving learning curve, which leads to elitest faggotry, which is fine in some games, don't get me wrong but it's beggining to become clear that although I'm 'ok' at CSS and can kill people on occasion and although I do have "Bursts Of Skill" I am clearly in the VERY average caviet of players that try and play it as casually as possible without getting addicted.

L4D is kind of the new kid on the block
but it's really only fun with friends, I find playing with people I don't know a boring and challenging experience, pour example I know that Chicken will always rush, therefore I can either compensate by trying to keep everyone to not follow him or just go for the lulz and go with him. if I'm playing with randomers I don't know whether "I shagged ure mum LOL!" is going to rush or just sit in the safe room until he switches to idle.

CSS has got me a bit addicted as EVERYONE and their mum seems to be playing it in this clan at the moment. It seems like a waste because I remember the days when every night without fail the TF2 server would fill up at around 9 or 10 and it was great, we'd have a laugh and have some lulz and now it sits there...empty, but CSS doesn't just make ME rage, it brings a level of unease to a group of friends, or "co-players" that I don't really enjoy, whether it's someone not letting that TK go from last night or permanently labelling someone a noob because they whore a particularly powerful gun.

I don't really know how people are going to reply to this and I've just realised how long this post is, but w.e.

I also don't think I'm the only one with this problem, but once again....w.e

Interesting post.

I don't really have much to say, but I will say this;

TCHS, in general, cycles through games, we will have stints on individual games and sway between CSS and TF2 a lot. It really depends on who is the most active at the time as to who plays. I am 99% sure the scout update will fill the TF2 server up once more.

I agree with Skillers.
Personally, I advise just enjoy playing them all. I agree TF2 tops the big 3 though. In a couple of days the Scout update will be out which will almost definitely fill the server up so you can enjoy once more playing it with all your friends, maybe a bit of scout whoring but it's still TF2 in some form or another.
Also, Community Friday can mean you can play L4D with some people or CSS with some people. With CSS, the community will give you labels and start to hold grudges against everyone else over it all, best to laugh it off. I'm an AWP whore, I laugh and just continue to kill them and laugh as they call you noob etc.

LOL I often feel like that but in this case I did read. My only advice to you is to stick to the games what you enjoy. If you cant decide out of the 3 games then I assume you like playing with people you know? Join the game which has most of those on :D

Very valid points in all of the senses, TF2 does seem to have quietened down a bit recently, but it'll pick up again soon certainly. Unfortunately, you make valid points about CSS and that's just the way it has and probably always will be.

L4D does suck when you're not playing with games, I think Wolf has been frustrated with not playing it as much as he'd like recently, so have a chat with him about it :).

As for TF2, it'll pick up again soon. An update may just be what people need to get back into it, or maybe when some people are slightly less busy with work there'll be more people playing. One thing I have noticed about our server (tf2) is that it does fill very quickly once you have 5 people on there, so try getting a few people on with you and take it from there :).

Also, HL2 FTW! ^^

Its all down to the longevity of a game, new content and who's playing it.

Games that can be played fun for years, will be. They will get interupted at times by other games coming out or old games releasing new content. TF2 can be played for years and will be. It has longeivty, new content and many people along with thier friends playing it.

CS:S also pretty much falls under that categorie, so it might be a little while until people start using TF2 as thier 'daily game' again, but I can assure you Dragon that it will :)

CSS ftw! it was the first online game i got into. its still my most played game 4-5 years later. other than choice of appearance no new content but wins all others on longevity imo.

TF2 - i could swear i've played it for ages but my complete time is only about 7 hours :S its a really good game though

L4D - i only play on expert, and without a good team its impossible to beat, basically its a no for me unless i'm playing with friends.

DoW and now RA3 are other good ones that we should play more of imo.
me and DHR have been playing a RA3 game or 2 nearly every night xD
