Anybody know why I am not able to download Crysis any more?



However, the Battlefield 2 Euro Force Booster Pack is still a downloadable option. Are they just teasing me? I paid more than everybody else did for a reason... a) to get it first and b) to get my unlock. So what's the deal?

EA generally fails, and Crysis isn't a great game; concentrated too much on graphics and left out loads of key gameplay elements, Bioshock is much better if you haven't played.

Would EADM have a limit on number of downloads? If so shame on them!

Yeah we found out the problem and its umm.. They have a time limit set to be able to download the game. You have to pay extra when you buy the game to extend it

The maximum time is 2 years though..

Also he tried to find out his product key on the EA website and it was trying to make him log in 3 times, but on the third try it always said his password was wrong, even after resetting his password 3 or 4 times and successfully logging in the first two times it told him to..

Conclusion: EA are a bunch of lame ass money loving <I AM INSULTING PEOPLE> that like ripping everyone off and making their online experience hell.

As Azraeleus said, you get 6 months to download it as many times as you like, then that's it! You could extend it to 2 years, but even then you would have to do that at the time of purchase.



Crysis is a great game, you just have to play it on a great computer! The story line is excellent in my opinion. I have played and completed Crysis. I have played Bioshock but it was not much to my liking. I generally dislike single player.

So anyway, it turns out that I will now need to obtain the game illegally, then legally use my serial key to unlock it. I can obtain my serial key through the EA website, but no matter what I try or however many times I reset my password, they will not let me log in to one specific area of their site. I log in once and it is fine, then I access another area of their site and I have to log in again! Then I access another area of their site and it asks me for a third time to log in, but this time it fails whereas the previous two times it works and even says "Hello Aaron". It's a scam.

Damn that sucks.

I say, if you legally purchased the game, there's nothing wrong with you downloading the installer for it through somewhere like TPB, as long as you use your legal serial key to activate it.

I do agree with you on Crysis though, I really enjoyed it, and it looked great from my perspective (on this PC) too!

Because then I will have bought it twice and that would be £70 spent on Crysis. I'd rather never play the game again than buy it twice for no reason.

Well tbh my comp aint the worst, I was able to play the game on full graphics but I'll admit it takes a LOT to make me like a single player FPS.

I prefer SP RTS games tbh, but hate it on MP. I love MP FPS games though ^^

Aaron, Strider meant why didn't you get it on disk in the first place, I believe. I guess you would have if you knew this would happen.

In situations like that, seeing as you own the game, I would just pirate it, it's not like you payed a lot less to rent it.

He bought the game online for the special adition, which gives him and instant unlock and means he had the game before everyone else did.

It also cost him more aswell and now they are disallowing him to download the game again -_-

IMO, I wouldn't count downloading it as illegal in this case, as he already owns it.

But the process fo getting my serial key doesn't actually work because the EA site is broken at the moment.

Yes, I bought it for digital download because it meant that I got it 24 hours before everybody else, and I had a multiplayer vehicle unlock, and also all of the bonus DVD features. I paid a lot more for it than most people. So imagine how I felt when I was still waiting for EA to allow me to decrypt the game when there were hundreds of people seeding Crysis on isohunt.com...

EA botched this release HARD, and now they are not allowing people to download the game that they bought for digital download.

Just to clarify - If I could download all of my games and make CDs and DVDs a thing of the past then I would. But EADM is not the answer; Steam is.

Again, Steam is shown to be the ruler or digital download. I've never known anyone who's pirated a Valve game (it happens, but it's a lot less common than every other game). The automatic updates work a charm, the downloads are fast (always maxes my connection) and everything just works.

You could just use a fake key as you actually own the game.

Naa, I'm going to use the real key so I can get multiplayer

I have finally got hold of my unlock code for Crysis... It turns out that the EA Customer Support site is not compatible with Mozilla Firefox... I had to use IE6 to access the information!

Anyway, I will download Crysis via BitTorrent and use my legitimate unlock code now!

Lame how EA doesnt work with firefox.. Makes no sense. Microsoft paying them off I bet?

Naa it's part of their download for 6 months only agreement.

I managed to copy the Crytek directory from my girlfriends computer on to my computer and it's working fine through the EA Download Manager again now.
