Almost certainly.

However, that won't be for a while. We will get a big update (Orange Box) to the current CSS soon(TM).

BTW, anyone who says CounterStrike Neo, that's just CSS in Asia, from what I gather.

My guess is they'll bring out a huge update for hl2, ep1 and css to the orange box, though probably not all at once.

We do know there's a new CSS in the works, because if I recall correctly some vague references to a 'CSS beta' were found in the steam game files (and if I also recall correctly, quickly removed).

Still, it's all speculation, but I expect Valve will want their games not to age.

Well they've already done DODS, so it's likely.

other than including a couple of maps to the dl when u get the game (they are commonly regarded as standard maps but u still need to dl from webbie) i dont really think the game needs changing.

Valve have done a good job of keeping the game engine modern and Half Life 2: Episode Two is what I would call a 'benchmark application' due to the stress it puts on the graphics card.

I still think HL2 (ep2) is one of the nicest looking games around. UE3 is waaay too shiney, and Crysis is a tad bright. I like the look of FC2 because it has a similar look to HL2 - not brown, but not crazy, it just looks right.

Crysis has some quite dark areas as well, like when you go in to the alien ship... it's really weird.

id like to see rate settings become available in settings rather than having to do it through console (where u cant see what they are)

Uuh, you can see what they are in the console...

And about rates, I think all serious CSS players have got this completely wrong. The point of user-changable rates is to aim to reduce lag. Its all ok having 25000 100 100 0.02 as your rates, but what if you are unable to get the data quick enough and it causes you to lag. The idea is that the user can turn it down (maybe even to the default 10000 30 20 0.01) but NOOOOO, you're not allowed to do that because you're "rate hacking". If your ping is high, your rates should go down, thats the point of them, to even out the experience for all players, not so people with better internet connections can win just because they lagged every other <LOOK MA, I AM SWEARING> on the server to death.

And another thing, the ma_rates function on mani, or other commands on similar admin plugins show INCORRECT information. The server variables responsible for max and min rates will auto-make the clients rates be within these values. For example, if my cl_updaterate was 10, but the server config had a min of 100 and a max of 125, then my updaterate would be 100, whereas the ma_rates function would show 10, it is therefore INCORRECT, and noobish admins should stop using it as a do all and end all excuse for a poor server configuration.

Yeah, when you type in a command in the console the drop down menu shows the current setting. Try typing bot_diffic and "bot_difficulty X" should be the first option, where X is 0,1,2 or 3. It works for all commands.

And yes, the server has minimum commands. I have actually been looking up server setups and such, and it makes a lot of sense, and I can now see how we would go up setting servers efficiently.

Probably all you need for the most part but its interesting to see how everyone is doing.

Doesnt make much difference to TF2 and stuff cause you rarely have more than 20 or so players.

Though we need a 64 player TF2 server with friendly fire That would be the most hilarious game of TF2 ever xD

Heh, I think the CSS scoreboard was designed for 16 players to fit on, but I'm not sure. TF2s was definitely designed for 12 a side, as 24 players is what Valve designed everything around.

Nice aaron.. But yes mark TK punish is what makes it majorly more hilarious. And you forget how on a map like dustbowl or something which is way to small for that amount of people and you playin a pyro... Your gonna be burning your teammates alot

Yeah, thats basically UKCS. Its pretty cool and people get kicked if doing it on purpose alot or they just get punished for it.

All the "Pro's" <FEMALE DOG> about being shot but even they TK sometimes. Like yesterday I was on and took 83 damage in total from 2 players on my team that were bitching about TAing......

It gets a bit hectic on maps like nightfever because of the simple fact that narrow corridors and shit.. Everyone gets shot in the back if they move around to much and die if they stand still.....

Can't really win. A good laugh though the punishes they have on UKCS are a bit more hilarious. Like the slap command continuesly hits them like every 4 seconds for one damage and damn they go flying seriously all over the place.
