DHR, that's a silly thing to say, seeing as you play plenty of games just as bad. Also, it's a GAME, it DOESN'T MATTER.

Well dhr I also disagree with that point of view, the Hitman series have always been good games. I didn't really think that the violence part was ever too extreme, it was more about the planning for me, I would spend hours going through everywhere learning the environments the targets movements and devise the best feasible plan.

Also I mostly used "accidents" or simply the fibrewire, not too bad really. Also a lot of the guys you kill are pretty bad people, drug dealers, paedophiles and rapists.

Kinda makes it easier that's how I sleep at night

Never played GTA so Never will either. That's probably the worst one for that sort of thing.

I can't really say anything except recommend you play a demo of one of the Hitmans. It is nothing like GTA, and needless violence is not just unnecessary, it can often cost you as well.

To be honest, killing innocents isn't encouraged in GTA. Postal 2 was possibly one of the most epic games EVER

where it also wasn't encouraged, but so damn fun it had to be done (I liked setting people on fire then pissing on them to put them out, waiting,then setting them on fire again!

also champ can play fetch (With peoples heads!) also i love adorning cacti with my victims dismembered, burned and peed-on heads

Now Postal 2....I have never played it, but what I have heard is that it is a very good example of needless violence.

I have Company of Heroes and its first expansion pack, Opposing Fronts. I have to say they are excellent games, and recommend them, but I cannot speak for the latest expansion pack. The latest expansion pack did not seem to get too positive reviews.
