I just received this yesterday...

Image

It's the Tagan BZ Series 900W modular power supply. And it's really really nice. Let me tell you why!!

Image
This is my system without a power supply in it. Very nice. Very tidy! I'm guessing you guys have never seen it like this.

Image
OK so I'm starting to unbox it. On top is an instruction manual and a bag.

Image
Underneath that we have the power supply with the 'bare essentials' cables.

Image
This was that little bag that was inside the box. It has the modular cables in there.

Image
The power supply itself comes in a bag with a pull-string.

Image
And then inside that, the power supply is coated in bubble wrap. Very nice.

Image
This is the beast!

Image
It has a very big cooling fan on the bottom. Though this is the only fan it has. There is no rear exhaust fan. This huge fan lights up blue when powered on.

Image
Best modular connection mechanism ever. Nuff said. You don't just plug the cables in, you need to plug them in, then screw them in to place. It feels very sturdy. The cables will never ever come loose. The rings on the outside of the connectors light up (they light up regardless of whether there is a cable connected or not).

Image
Like I said, the fan is of a decent size.

Image
And I start plugging things in...

I forgot to take any more photo's after this point, but I'll grab the final pictures for you and upload them some time soon. The system looks so much more tidy now. I think it is even slightly less noisy!

Very nice Aaron, how much did it cost?

I would get one of those for my next upgrade, but it'll probably be out my pricerange. I'd probably have to go EZ series.

These things are brand new, I believe they were released last week! You should expect to pay £130 - £140 for this particular model. Not a bad price for a 900W modular!

Huh, they appear to be roughly the same price as the EZ series for the lower models, but the EZ series seems to have increased in price.

The models above this one come with additional PCI-E power connectors, so you can have 3 high-end (3x6-pin, 3x8-pin) graphics cards. I believe the BZ series go up to 1300W.

They're a bit steep for me, though, so I'm looking at slightly more sane ones.

Two problems - I need a modular and you'd charge too much anyway.

By too much, you mean a reasonable price.

Still too much for me at any rate.
