Also known as longest title for a topic in a while thread.

Basically i tried checking out the multiplayer side of Total war for future skirmish's with/against skillers and others.

It ended in me playing a 4v4 on the artic ocean with 3 AI bots vs 4 AI Bots in a Gale wind I believe.

My Team included:- Austria (ME), Ottomans, Pirates and Poland

Their team:- Great Britian, France, Maratha, United Provinces.

The odds really were against us.


~ This shows our side deplyment phase and our ships, my FPS must of been abotu 20FPS about here and moving was slow, almost painful.


~ My computer had a heart attack as end deployment was clicked revealing another naval force double wha it was displaying before. 5-10FPS i believe.

Still for the good of entertain ment i battles on in High settings in the name of entertainment .


~ After 5 minutes of Real time the forces finally met as i powered the autrian war machine into the side of the massing French/British ships .


~ My Allies the pirates are shown here in a tight scuffle with french warships.

Sadly about a minute after this my report and fun ended as the game had enough, and crashed to desktop .

HOWEVER to report the pirates had experienced, yet pathetic ships in comparision to the other nations, as such three had already surrendered, and one was sinking. One austrian ship was routing but two france and one british ship were on fire with abotu 20 mixed nation ships in a tight cluster all firing at each other ^_^.

The water effects are good.

I thought that too, especially for an RTS game.

Every thing is on high still which accounts for my uber lag whilst tryign to play ^_^

Water comes down to three main things

1. Reflection
2. Refraction
3. Foam

all were on

Boats were 14 X 7

and 15 x 1

= 113 ships in total.

Mean number of men per boat (based on first pic) = 60 men per boat.

meaning that total troops = 7980 Troops Total....... all on high graphics and full water effects.

Not too many, then.
