Oil is the best currency. It holds onto its value for ages. Diamonds/gold too. The worst is fresh produce like fruit or maize/grain. You need a really fast train for those.

Your ratings are HIGHER the quicker the stuff is taken away. It doesn't drop when you're in the station.
Anyway, we all have our own tactics, and mine works for me. I think that it's worth making it wait a couple of extra seconds to pick up the last bits of coal, rather than it do a full trip.

Fix for bug: Do not tell your train to wait for coal when it's meant to pick up iron-ore...

Yeah, lol. The coal and iron hoppers are the same ones now, aren't they, so you can have a coal train that does iron aswell?

Yeah. It's neato. The refittable aitcraft are cool, too. They carry pretty much whatever you want! Create a scenario in the year 2000+ and you have lots of fun-mobiles at your fingertips!

The refitting is also available on OpenTTD, I think (I have played TTDLX with refitting, think it was the OpenTTD version).

Not many! I have two MASSIVE Metropolises and im going like 500 passengers a trip. Plus al the little bus networks ive got. Fourteen other players and only 2 others are transporting passengers! Nd ive got twice as many as them! Bt there is a company that is cl.osing in on my percentage thing. Ive doulble headed all the trains so they keep moving to! But you cant buy people out. Im so depressed about not being able to buy people out. Thats usually how i make loads o money. Buy 50% of a new company and lety the company get to be worth like ?2000000 and then sell your stakes in the company. You make a mint!

Hehe, lol. I wonder how long that map will take you to finish? I'm guessing you'll be glad for the fast forward function!

Not really. The fast foward fnction is rubbish. It you cant build wit it fast fowarded and i can build faster then the PC can keep up with at the mo. 250,000 passengers down, many more to go...

I just like to sit and watch for ages in fast forward, so it's useful for me.
Anyway, trams are awesome! Just cover a town in track, drop some trams on it and build a few stations, and watch as the money rolls in. Very useful fr get x passenger missions, just find a big town and tramify it! Oh, using that method, I did the 500 passengers in 3 months!

Mine are messier!
Anyway, I finally managed to build airports on a mixing muscle campaign! They make a lot of money, and I've reacehed the primary objective, now I've just got to get myself to the top of the leaderboard again (1 company is beating me!)
On a side note, does the AI have no landscaping costs like on TT, as they could build the airports much earlier than me, and most the cost of the airports are lanscaping (have to be built on flat land)?

Their money seems to be limitless, which was why the game annoyed so many reviewers, hence the low score. It's certainly challenging, anyway...

Yeah, i havent even tried those scenarios yet. The 500 passengers was with trams and busses. More trams though. Dont use aeroplanes at all until you are sure you can fund the aircraft. They are sodding expensive! I think the AI has no terrain changing costs as they dont seem to not build on flat land. Oh well, i probably havent got their yet...
