Yeah, just hit detection was/is naff and soldiers had an easy time agianst pyros (you cant dodge every rocket, and as soon as you're airborn, you're doomed).

Soldiers are the Pyro's worst enemy- a Pyro is unable to get close enough to burn him without dying as the Soldier can just plant a rocket at his own feet, rocket jump to safety and blow up what is remaining of the Pyro...
With the air-blast, the Pyro will stand a much better chance against the Soldier by redirecting his rockets back at the Soldier or away from him (although the aiming will probably be really difficult so to stop people easily redirecting the rockets back at the Soldier).

The footshot was often a last resort, and it would generally separate them enough to give the soldier an advantage. The problem I had was getting close too a soldier, I'm pretty good at dodging aswell, just a shot planted too close to your feet will destroy your assault.

A good way to burn a Soldier is to keep your distance and dodge his 4 rockets then rush in and set him on fire. If he draws his shotgun, circle-strafe him and jump around him to confuse his because he will be blinded by your continuous flames in his face.

I've thought of an upgrade for the Engineer- he can build 3 turrets but only 1 can be leveled up to level 3, the other to level 2 only, and the last one stays on level 1 and can't be upgraded. This would follow the Meet The Engineer video as he has about 3 turrets, one on level 3, one on level 2, one on level 1 in it.
This would seem unfair... but the Engineer then has to look after 3 turrets which will be difficult as a Spy could sap them all and the Engie will definitely lose 1 turret or a Demoman could blow them all up with a few sticky bombs...
Opinions?

That would be a straight off upgrade, rather than a replacement (which is what Valve want, the weapons always have downsides), so I seriously doubt it. Plus most engies would dump the level 1 and 2 in various semi useful places and look after the level 3 in the most useful place.

The only way that would work is if the sentries were very weak in comparison....

Ok everyone, Heavy is set for the next class for upgrades so I think it is time to predict what he will get. According to Valve, they are making him more able to fight without a Medic's assistance.
One of my predictions is speed- his minigun weighs a ton yet a shotgun and fists must weigh nothing to him... so I predict that they may allow the Heavy to move faster when not wielding the minigun. Other than that, I have no idea what other upgrades he should recieve... as I am out of ideas...

He still has to carry the minigun. The CSS style of only the weapon you have out affecting your speed always bugged me - you still have to carry the damn thing! He will stay the same speed, the minigun already penalises speed with the spinup.

The key to the Heavy update is improving him but keeping his strength with the medic at the same level, otherwise he will become too powerful.

I dunno.... I think he needs something very different...

He could have his own healing pack, so he heals like the medic, but he has a vastly weaker weapon... I dont know how they are going to upgrade the shotgun tho O.o and Knuckle Dusters ftw!

Self regeneration on the Heavy would be a bad idea, IMO.

It would royally suck

However I have an idea for a spy:
Insta-kill from all directions, however the person can afterwards see the person as a spy not what they're disguised as.

That wouldn't work very well, because of the two ways of implementing;

Lasts until spy dies - Spy dies pretty quick after backstab, unless you get a lone player (not a spy player, but this would seem right) - no ill effect for spy, spy is now uber. Plus it would allow the spy to fun in head first and just keep stabbing, should get lots of kills, before dying and having effect reset.

Lasts until end of round - Spy kills a few people, then becomes suck because his disguise is useless. Spy is now fail.

Nice idea, though I don't think it would work. Then again, I don't play spy.

spy has ability to run as quick as a scout can (extra class to disguise as) but cloak last a little bit less time ;D

Wwaaaay overpowered, lol.

Anyway, Si's idea, if it lasted until the person who could see the spy killed the spy, that would work quite well.

Spy Taunt: same as Pyro- instant kill whilst he is fencing with his knife (slashing does half the health of enemy, thrust of knife kills instantly, would fit in with the Pyro's kill-taunt)
Spy Upgrade: He can run faster but uses cloak time to do so... and the cloak can be recharged at a dispenser, enemy or ally...
Spy Weapon: Poison Darts- poison the enemy so their vision is blurred and movement speed is decreased slightly, and the antidote is only found in the Medic's Medigun/Kritzkrieg not dispensers or medipakcs as they can only give you health to slow the damage of the poison. THe poison also damages the neurology of the enemy, so he can't make any voice commands (Incoming!, Spy!) but he can still call for a Medic. The gun will be silenced as well so the Spy is a little more stealthy. The gun would help the Spy to kill groups of enemies- poison one of them, stab another, poison another then stab the last person, then stab the rest as they can't see you coming or where they are going. Hitting someone twice with the Poison Gun would cause the enemy's health to be depleted twice as fast (unlike flames, it wont stop depleting but does so at a slower rate to flames).

Seems a bit extreme for a spy to have these poison darts :/

Way to overpowered after that.. And i dont really get why it cant be healed by a medic pack cause if it can stop you burning im pretty sure it can cure poison..

And not be able to make voice commands is just ridiculous/pointless 90% of people only use medic or thanks.. Oh noes they cant thank someone for healing them?

im guessing there will be sort of sapper that will sapp stuff slower or faster but still let them take effect as a draw back or take more hits to remove them. Onlt thing I can see for a different sapping kit..

As for weapon I dunno :S The knife is already the best combat weapon and the revolver already does quite alot of damage to..

As for heavy I got no idea.. Possibly a better gun, more crits, more accurate or something along these lines and knuckle dusters or something like dave said xD But I can just see TF2 giving him boxing gloves or something xP

I do. Read the very last line, right at the very very bottom of the spy update image.

That heavy is awesome though ^^
