As you may have already noticed we are currently limited to only using the default subSilver stylesheet for this forum. This is because it is the only style available for phpBB3 at the moment, due to its BETA status. Many of you do not like subSilver, so I am offering you the opportunity to make styles for us.
If you would like to make a style, you will need;
- A plain text manipulation program. The styles contain many text files in cfg (config), css (stylesheet, for text/background colour etc) and html (for object positioning). Notepad or equilavent is standard on all computers and can be used for this purpose, however, [url=http://www.flos-freeware.ch/notepad2.html]Notepad2[/url] is recommended due to it's advanced text editing features (colour coding tags and line numbers, for example). It is recommended that you DO NOT use a WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) editor such as Dreamweaver as these can corrupt the code. We do recommend that you preview the HTML files using a normal Internet browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox etc), but it will look a bit none-sensical (it will just show the positioning of many objects, but they won't be present, just represented by {object_name}).
- An image manipulation program. The style contains a lot of image files to edit, such as page headers, post icons etc, all of which need to b edited. Photoshop or Fireworks are the best bets for this, however, if you do not have either of these, [url=http://www.gimp.org/]The Gimp[/url] is a good free image manipulation program. Paint will probably not suffice.
- A copy of subSilver. This default style contains all the fils that make up a style, and will be the basis for your style. To get this request it in this thread, and I will email it to you in rar/zip format (please specify, rar is preferred), you do not need to post your email as I, as the admin, can see your signup email anyway (don't worry, I don't abuse them, only I will know the [unless you set it to public, in which case all members can have it]). If you wish to have it sent to another address you may post it here or pm the address to me. Please note that the subSilver style for phpBB2.x is NOT compatable with our forum software, and you must get a copy of subSilver from us.
It should be noted that as this is BETA software the styles you create are unlikely to be compatable with the final release of phpBB3, so you will either have to remake them when we upgrade (at release) or have them removed from the forum.

People who have already offered to make a style and the details of said style;
- Myself - my style will be like the origional subSilver except it will consist of reds (instead of blues) and blacks (instead of whites). This style should be available very soon.
- Myself again - a style require more modification and resulting in a completely origional luck. It will be a black background with simple pictures designed to reduce load and be less confusing. This style may take awhile to create.
- Aaron (azcn2503) - an undisclosed style.
- Species - has requested the style to experiment with. Unknown what the style will be.
All styles greatly appreciated and there is no obligation to complete a style.
